In cooperation with Det Jysk-Syriske Kulturkollektiv, Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke Aarhus and Gellerup Bibliotek, NorthLit arranges an evening dedicated to Arabic culture which is to take place in the newly opened Café MellemFolk.

Here, translator and associate professor in Arabic June Dahy will provide a brief introduction to modern Arabic literature and speak about translation from Arabic to Danish.

There will also be readings in Arabic,by the locally resident Syrian author Mahasen Aljundi, translated in to Danish and read by actress Rie Nørgaard, and music by the famous Syrian composer and oudist Maher MahmOud, who has played all over Europe!

The event is free and will be in English, Arabic and Danish.
